Liver Detoxification Diet
Remove all Coffee, Caffeine, Alcohol, Dairy, Wheat, Sugar, Tomatoes,
Corn, Citrus, Red- Meat, and Preservatives/Artificial Additives from
diet. This includes all foods that have these things in them. Please
read labels. Most people report that they are shocked to see what is in
the foods they have been eating!
These are not "bad" foods per-se, but they do challenge the Liver, and
in some cases, the rest of the digestive system, and because of this,
are the top ten food allergen list.
Eat plenty of Vegetables, Whole Grains, Beans,"Clean" Meat (no
antibiotics, hormones, etc.), and some Fruit. You may drink some Green
Tea after a meal (yes, it has a little caffeine in it), Herbal Teas, and
some Clear Fruit Juice, but your main beverage should be Clean Water.
If you are honest and persistent in your preparation and efforts, you
will succeed in your first step; a major step towards better health.

Allergy-Elimination Diet
All fruits and vegetables except citrus, tomatoes, corn
Organic/free range chicken, turkey
White fish (cod, sole, walleye, halibut, swordfish, etc.)
Walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds
Use organic produce when possible, but if commercial produce is used,
wash very well as pesticides may cause an allergic reaction.
You may use the pulse test to determine if you are sensitive (allergic)
to any foods. First, you must know what your average resting pulse rate
is. Once you know this number, check your pulse 5 minutes after eating a
specific food by itself (you may check after a meal, but this only tells
you that something you ate in the meal is challenging you), if the pulse
has increased by more than 10 beats per minute, you should avoid the
food that you tested for at least 3 months , at which point you may test
it again. If you fail again, avoid it for 6 months (not even coming in
contact with it), and test it again. You should check your pulse every
15 minutes for the next hour after your 5-minute test, as sometimes the
reaction is slower.
Avoid the following food/additives completely:
Dairy (milk, cheese, butter), Sugar, Corn, Tomatoes, Soy, Wheat, Coffee,
Caffeine, Peanuts, and Citrus

Drink plenty of water (without ice) between meals (very little fluids

If Bowels are sluggish, make sure that there is plenty of fiber and
water in the diet, and that you are getting ample exercise. If you still
aren't having at least one BM/day, please notify your practitioner. Do
NOT take laxatives for more than a few days in a row or on an on-going
basis as they will exhaust the colon's natural ability to eliminate and
you will become dependent on them!
Eating a variety of whole, natural foods is an important part of any
recovery program.
This will take time, so please be patient and diligent in your efforts.

Liver/Gallbladder Flush
Day 1 Through 6 (usually Monday through Saturday)
Drink as much fresh organic apple juice as you can (preferable a half
gallon per day). If you cannot get fresh organic apple juice, purchase
the best quality organic apple juice available at the health food store
or co-op. If you do not tolerate the sugar in apple juice, dilute the
apple juice with water. If you still do not tolerate the apple juice,
then eat at least three or four fresh organic apples each day in place
of the apple juice. Chew the apples well and drink plenty of pure spring
or distilled water throughout the day. Continue with your normal diet,
with the exception of restricting your dietary oil intake. Continue
taking any nutritional supplements.
Day 6 (usually Saturday)
Eat your normal, healthy breakfast and lunch.
Two hours after lunch: Prepare a mixture of 1 or 2 tablespoons of Epsom
Salt in 3 ounces of hot spring or distilled water. Prepare 1/3 to 1/2
cup fresh squeezed lemon juice. If you are allergic to lemons,
substitute grapefruit or orange juice. When you are ready, HOLD YOUR
NOSE, swallow the Epsom Salt mixture. CONTINUE HOLDING YOUR NOSE, drink
the lemon juice and swish it around in your mouth before swallowing.
RELEASE YOUR NOSE.
Repeat the above procedure in two hours.
For dinner: Eat only fresh grapefruit (organic is preferred). If you
have a problem with grapefruit, you may eat fresh apples and drink fresh
or high quality organic apple juice.
At bedtime: Prepare a glass with 1/2 cup of organic, unrefined,
cold-pressed olive oil. (Spectrum Naturals brand is highly recommended,
available at a heath food store or co-op.) Prepare another glass with
1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (or grapefruit/orange juice if
you are allergic to lemons). HOLD YOUR NOSE, drink the olive oil, follow
with the lemon juice around in your mouth before swallowing. RELEASE
YOUR NOSE.
Go immediately to bed. Lie on your right side with your right knee
pulled up close to your chest for 30 minutes. Go to sleep.
Day 7 (usually Sunday)
One hour before breakfast: Take 1 to 2 tablespoons of Epson Salt
dissolved in 3 tablespoons hot spring or distilled water, followed by
1/3 to 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice. REMEMBER TO HOLD YOUR NOSE
You may want to do 10 to 15 minutes of vigorous exercise 30 minutes
following the Epsom Salt.
Eat a lighter than normal healthy breakfast.
Plan a relaxing, restful day as your body is purging itself. You may see
a change in your stool color, and/or light to dark green gelatinous
objects in your stool this day and maybe the next. These contain purged
bile from the gallbladder and are helping to detoxify the liver and
relieve congestion in the gallbladder.
If there are a large number of these objects in the stool you may repeat
the liver/gallbladder flush in two to three weeks. Otherwise, the flush
may be repeated as needed up to four times a year.
Note: There have been some reports attacking the Gallbladder flush for
not doing what it purports, but many of my colleagues and I have seen
many types of pain and digestive difficulties pass and a good number of
patients even avoid surgery!
If you have severe pain (abdominal or chest).
DO NOT DO THIS FLUSH, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.

Diet For Chronically
Ill Patients
The body that has been out of balance for at least 3 months, with an
auto-immune disorder, chronic degenerative disease, diabetes,
asthma/allergies, sinusitis, and the list goes on and on, will need to
be detoxified/cleansed, "re-educated," and then supplied with the proper
nutrients/energy/environment to re-build or heal itself. The purpose of
this section is to provide you with the basic foundation of your
diet...in other words, here is what you can eat (there are always a few
exceptions in the crowd)!
First- While you are in a healing phase, you should avoid
coffee, caffeinated beverages, alcohol, sodas, sugar, high fructose corn
syrup, dairy, and artificial ingredients. Yes, this pretty much means
EVERYTHING you have been consuming! Instead of focusing on what you
CANNOT eat, try concentrating on what is going to lead you back to a
state of health and wellness.
Drink water from a good, clean source. Avoid chlorinated
(most city water) water...filtered, spring or well water is ok.
-Carbohydrates: Fruit: focus on fruit that is in-season...apples in the
Fall, dates, prunes, and figs in the Winter, citrus, strawberries, and
plums in the Spring, and berries, melons, pears, peaches, nectarines,
and some tropical fruits in the Summer. Some of you will have to
minimize or avoid fruits.
-Vegetables: focus on veggies that are in-season...cabbage, carrot,
artichoke, leeks, potatoes, pumpkin, squash (winter), and yams/sweet
potatoes in the Fall and Winter (adding more warming spices as the
weather cools, such as ginger, garlic, and onions), beets, beet greens,
broccoli, all greens and sprouts in the Spring, and beets, cucumber,
beans, radish, broccoli, cauliflower, and summer squash in the Summer.
-Protein: good, clean sources of poultry (chicken & turkey), fish (oily
fish is better, such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines), and in the
Fall/Winter, venison, elk, and other wild game is ok in moderation. For
those without sensitivities/allergies to eggs, free-range eggs that are
free of antibiotics are a great way to start the day, 3-4 days per week.
Some of you will have problems digesting protein, so an acceptable
alternative will be suggested, such as a protein powder from a
hypo-allergenic source such as vegetables, or a protein supplement like
spirulina may be recommended. It is crucial to prepare all your foods
properly, but especially proteins. Do not overcook/dry-out your meats.
This makes them hard-to-digest, and a tremendous burden to the digestive
system as a whole. Also, keep your portion sizes no bigger than the palm
of your hand.
A variety of beans and grains (including soybeans, red beans, black
beans, kidney beans, adzuki beans, rice, brown rice, millet, spelt,
amaranth, quinoa, and barley) are essential if animal products are being
removed from the diet. Just as important is the preparation of these
items. For the Chronically ill, a pressure-cooker is highly recommended
as it opens up the beans/grains and makes them much more digestible.
Soaking beans overnight, changing the water at least once is also highly
recommended.
-Fats: Minimize saturated fats (found in animal protein, especially in
red meat), and use monounsaturated fats such as olive oil (extra virgin
is preferred) and canola oil liberally. It is also important to get
plenty of the Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids (fats), such as wheat
germ, sesame oil, flaxseed oil, and walnut. Omega-3's are the conditions
in the body. As important as the kind of oil is the quality of the oil.
Too many people pay little or no attention to this factor and consume
rancid fats, which wreak havoc on the digestive system, namely, the
Liver and Gallbladder. Make sure your oils are stored in cooler areas,
blocked from sunlight, and that they are not too old. Smell them, and if
you have any doubts, toss them and purchase new bottles, putting the
purchase date on the label.
Finally, keep your meals simple. To many people combine too many foods,
often of complex nature, making digestion quite a challenge for the
body, and then magnifying this problem by further stifling their
digestive energy by having a sweet, rich dessert, and instead of going
for a nice walk to stimulate movement through the system, they sit
around until it is time to go to bed.
Changing a diet and eating habits cannot occur overnight, but it takes
commitment and personal responsibility. Take this as a challenge. Ask
questions, read labels, make grocery lists, write down new foods and
menu idea...and as time passes, you will adopt these healthy changes
into new habits that will truly create a new you.

Anti-fungal/microbial Diet
No: sugar, alcohol, flour-products, most fruits (citrus is usually ok),
products with yeast or yeast extract, products with corn syrup or high
fructose corn syrup, genetically engineered food, and make sure that all
food is washed properly and eaten as fresh as possible. Eat whole,
natural foods that come from "clean" sources, avoiding
chemically-treated produce and meats that are from commercially raised
animals that are given growth hormones and antibiotics. Use the pungent
culinary spices liberally in your cooking, such as thyme, rosemary, and
oregano (fresh is best). Fresh coconut and/or coconut milk are helpful.
Drink lots of purified water.
